Man, creating that music blog -yes I am plugging A Week at the Most - has really inspired me to write more so I figured I would also jump on here and write a few words before heading out to see the film The Strangers with some friends. I stumbled upon an extremely well written blog entitled and The House Next Door just had to eleborate. The person who writes the page was fortuate enough to make it to Cannes this year and brought me great news that I was hoping for and one bit of news I refuse to believe.

For starts he claims that Woody Allen's latest Vicky Cristina Barcelona is his return to form and very well maybe his closest to the director's masterpiece Annie Hall (one of my personal favorite films...ironically I am not a big Woody Allen fan at all). In case you are wondering, the film stars Penelope Cruz, Javier Bardem, and Scarlett Johansson. Second, he also proclaims that Charlie Kaufman's directorial debut Synecdoche, New York is a complete mindfuck and a total masterwork. Great news to hear figuring I am extremely excited for both films and each are on my must see of the year list.

Unfortunately another film on the list is Blindless, the new film by Brazillian director Fernando Meirelles and he states that the film is an utter disappointment. I just can't take his word for it. I really can't. He does call City of God and The Constant Gardener visually appealing but ultimately shallow films and I believe the exact opposite towards those films so maybe there still is some hope.
